for a chance to sing the “Star Spangled Banner” to kick off this year’s 4th
of July Festivities. Visit www.KAFE.com,
complete the UPICKEM registration form and upload an mp3 recording of yourself
singing the “Star Spangled Banner” between 12:00am Friday 6/24/2016 through 11:59PM
Friday, 6/30/2016. At approximately 12:00
PM 7/1/2016, KAFE staff will randomly draw one entry to win. The winner will
get to sing the Star Spangled Banner at Zuanich Park on July 4th at
8:30pm. Demos are requested to be no longer than 15 seconds. One entry per person. Winner will be notified by telephone on Friday
July 1st. If the winner cannot be reached by telephone at 12:00pm on July 1st,
they will forfeit the prize and a new winner will be drawn.
Media files must
represent contestant. Recording of anyone other than themselves will
automatically be disqualified. Media files must contain audio file, not a link
to another website.
Winners
will be chosen in the sole discretion of KAFE. You may only qualify one time.
Submitting more than one entry per person will invalidate all entries by that
contestant. Any entry submitted on behalf of another individual or using
another person’s email address or name will be disqualified and ineligible to
claim any prize. Any attempt by any
participant to obtain more than the stated number of entries allowed by using
same, multiple/different email addresses, identities, or any other methods void
that participant's entries and that participant may be disqualified. In the
event of a dispute as to any on-line registration, the authorized account
holder of the e-mail address used to register will be deemed to be the
registrant and he/she must be eligible according to these Official Rules. No
mechanically reproduced or automated entries permitted. Use of any automated system to participate is
prohibited and will result in disqualification and all such entries will be
deemed void. Entries
containing inappropriate music will be disqualified. Any media file submitted
to KAFE will become the property of KAFE and may be used in any manner it feels
appropriate in the future. By entering this contest, you are verifying that you
are the owner and producer of the submitted material and that no third party
ownership rights exist to the photo submitted.
No
purchase necessary. KAFE’s Sole responsibility will be to award the prize. KAFE
will have no further responsibility in connection with the prize if the prize
winner, for any reason, cannot or decides not to use any of the prizes. Winners
will be responsible for all federal and state taxes, and any fees and
incidentals. Prizes are not transferrable or redeemable for cash.
To
submit an entry, you must register and agree to terms for UPICKEM through
www.KAFE.com and provide all applicable contact information during the registration
process. Voters must be registered members of UPICKEM.
KAFE
contests are open to all eligible US Citizens, residing in Washington state,
age 18 or older, that have not won anything on KAFE in the past 30 days or any
prize valued at $600 or more in the past 6 months. Only one winner per
household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner. Any prize
awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an
alternate eligible winner may be named.
Employees
of KAFE, Saga Broadcasting, LLC dba Cascade Radio Group, and its ultimate
parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies,
affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and
employees of all media of mass communication within a one hundred mile radius
of the KAFE main studio are not eligible to win any contest. Immediate family includes the spouse,
great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children,
grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This
also includes individuals for whom the employee is current legal guardian.
Prize will be awarded on July 4, 2016. Winner
will be required to meet KAFE representative at the Main Stage at Zuanich Park
in Bellingham on Monday, July 4th at 7PM. Winner will perform at
approximately 8:30pm. Winner must know
the Star Spangled Banner song completely. Winner will be required to sing the
entire song, from start to finish, accapella upon time of performance.
Winner will be
required to fill out a photo release form for liability purposes. Photos may be
used for KAFE collateral content for websites, Facebook pages, and/or other
social media platforms. Full

These
rules will supersede any rules posted on the UPICKEM website.
